At Icy Nicy the sale is not the end of the job — it is the start of a long relationship. Every ice machine ships with an official warranty and technical support, so you can rely on uninterrupted ice production.
This page sets out the general framework of our warranty and after-sales service. The precise terms for each machine — including duration and scope — are stated on its warranty card and quotation; where the two differ, the warranty card governs.
The warranty period for each product is stated on its warranty card and quotation, and varies with the type of machine and the components used. Major assemblies such as the compressor may carry their own separate coverage period.
Cover begins on the date of official installation and commissioning by an authorised team. If installation is postponed because the buyer's site is not ready, the warranty start date is taken as no later than a set period after the delivery date.
Beyond the warranty period, after-sales service and parts supply continue on a chargeable basis.
The warranty covers defects in design, manufacture and materials under normal operating conditions.
- Faults in the refrigeration circuit and main cooling components caused by a manufacturing defect.
- Failure of factory-fitted electrical and control components under normal use.
- Mechanical faults in the ice cutting, harvesting or discharge system arising from a production defect.
- Refrigerant leaks from factory welds and joints.
- Labour and the defective part itself during the warranty period, in line with the warranty card.
Some failures originate in site conditions or the way the machine is operated, and fall outside the warranty. We are happy to handle these as chargeable service work.
- Improper installation, or relocation of the machine by unauthorised people.
- Scaling and corrosion caused by unsuitable water, high hardness, or the absence of filtration and softening.
- Damage from unstable power, voltage fluctuation, incorrect phase and neutral wiring, or missing protection devices.
- Normal wear of consumables such as filters, gaskets, lamps and belts.
- Failures caused by poor plant-room ventilation, excessive ambient heat, or a condenser blocked by dust.
- Impact, dropping, fire, flood, earthquake and other force majeure events.
- Use outside the defined application, or disregard of the instructions in the user manual.
- Improper cleaning with corrosive chemicals, or spraying the electrical panel directly with water.
The warranty is void in the following cases. To keep it valid, please arrange any repair or modification through official support only.
- Opening, repairing or tampering with the machine by unauthorised persons.
- Defacing, removing or replacing the warranty label or the serial-number plate.
- Modifying the electrical or refrigeration circuit, or fitting non-original parts.
- Recharging with an unsuitable refrigerant or by an unauthorised technician.
- Initial installation by an unauthorised team without our written agreement.
Raising a request is straightforward. To speed things up, have the machine's serial number and installation date to hand before you contact us.
- 1. Submit the request through the Contact form, the support number, or the tickets section of your account.
- 2. Provide the serial number, model, installation date and a clear description of the fault (with photos or video if possible).
- 3. Initial assessment and remote diagnosis by a technical specialist — many issues are resolved at this stage.
- 4. If needed, we schedule an on-site technician visit and confirm whether the fault is covered by warranty.
- 5. The repair or part replacement is carried out and a service report is issued.
We aim to review every request within the first working hours after it arrives. Phone and remote support are normally handled the same working day.
The timing of an on-site visit depends on distance, part availability and the service team's workload. Remote cities and projects outside provincial centres may take longer to schedule, and where the fault is not covered by warranty, travel costs are charged separately.
For production sites where downtime is expensive, a priority support agreement can be arranged — contact us for details.
Original spare parts for Icy Nicy machines remain available after the warranty period ends. Genuine parts protect the life of the machine and prevent knock-on failures.
We recommend replacing consumables such as water filters and gaskets on schedule. Our specialists will give you a recommended list of parts worth keeping in stock on site.
Fitting non-original or generic parts removes our responsibility for any subsequent failure.
Periodic service and maintenance
Like any refrigeration equipment, an industrial ice machine needs regular maintenance. Periodic service keeps energy consumption down, protects ice quality and prevents expensive breakdowns.
Our recommended programme covers hygienic cleaning of the tank and water circuit, descaling, condenser cleaning, refrigeration pressure checks, inspection of electrical connections and a performance test. Frequency depends on water conditions and operating hours.
Annual service agreements are available for industrial sites.
The end of the warranty is not the end of support. Repairs, parts supply, refurbishment and technical consultation remain available for out-of-warranty machines, with costs stated transparently before any work starts.
For out-of-warranty repairs we provide a cost estimate first, and work begins only once you approve it.
